Alicia is an international dressage rider and trainer based in Herefordshire at How Caple Stud, where she combines elite competition, horse production, and a deep-rooted passion for the sport.

Having been immersed in the equestrian world from an early age, with her mother a highly successful event rider, Alicia’s path with horses was almost inevitable. However, it was at the age of eleven that she discovered her true passion for dressage.

Alicia’s international journey began in 2020 at Young Rider level with Bonita, a mare she had produced from the age of six. Together, they made their mark, achieving multiple top placings at Premier League competitions before making a standout international debut in Belgium, consistently scoring over 70% and securing podium finishes. These results earned them selection for the European Championships in Hungary, where they delivered consistently strong performances and finished as the highest-placed British combination.

This upward trajectory continued as Alicia and Bonita went on to achieve multiple wins and podium finishes at Intermediate II and Under 25 Grand Prix level, as well as securing a place on the World Class Podium Potential Pathway.

Alicia has a genuine passion for producing and working with horses. She has enjoyed success in international young horse tests, Premier Leagues across different levels, high-profile shows, young horse semi-finals and finals, as well as National Championships. One of her proudest achievements to date is with Della Ballerina, a mare she has produced from the very beginning, who was crowned 6-Year-Old National Champion at the 2024 Summer National Championships.

Alicia has been fortunate to train, work, and learn from some of the sport’s leading figures in both the UK and the Netherlands, including her long-term trainer, Carl Hester. This experience is reflected in the consistently high standard of care and training within her programme.

At How Caple Stud, Alicia has carefully created a truly special setting where both horses and riders can thrive. The yard is designed to promote calm, happy horses, with a strong attention to detail and a supportive team environment. From the quality of care and training to the thoughtfully designed facilities, every aspect is tailored to help each partnership perform at their very best. Set alongside the River Wye, the yard enjoys beautiful countryside views and exceptional hacking, offering a peaceful and inspiring environment.

Breeding is a passion project for Alicia. Established in 2021 alongside her parents, Vanessa and Roger, How Caple Stud also reflects a shared interest in breeding quality dressage horses. Learn more about How Caple Stud here.
